Position: Regulatory Counsel

An award-winning on-line broker in forex, stocks, crypto, gold. CFD’s and commodities, is looking to hire a legal counsellor for their Guernsey operation.

The successful candidate will draft and review contracts, offering valuable insights on contractual issues and disputes, keeping our client in line with regulatory frameworks, providing expert advice on compliance, collaborating with regulators and legal professionals and ensuring that our client’s operations remain fully compliant while effectively managing legal risks.

Your sharp analytical and problem-solving skills and strategic thinking will assist you in navigating complex legal concepts and enable you to communicate them with ease to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, while your strong attention to detail will allow you to juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Your challenges including providing legal advice on marketing matters across various jurisdictions; providing advice on B2B tax, marketing and corporate matters including cross-border transactions; drafting and reviewing policies, assisting with licensing and ensuring ongoing compliance; keeping senior leadership informed of relevant legal and regulatory changes and providing recommendations to pro-actively address potential risks; and developing strategies to prevent and resolve disputes and to foster a positive and compliant work environment.

To be suitable for this role, you will have experience in investment services, e-commerce, on-line marketing and reviewing contracts, an understanding of regulations governing the fintech industry and basic tax laws, the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively, strategic thinking, analytic and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and excellent English communication skills.

Knowledge of Guernsey as a destination to live and work in will be essential as the role will require the role-holder to be based in the Island. A licence to live and work in Guernsey could be available for someone wishing to relocate meeting all the aforementioned criteria.
