OVERVIEW

Covering an area of approximately 1,063,000 square miles, the Caribbean is a region that includes the Caribbean Sea and islands within it as well as those along the coastline (total around 7,000). It is broadly divided into four regions: the Bahamas, the Greater Antilles, the Lesser Antilles and the Netherlands Antilles.
