A leading global investment and technology firm is looking to hire a Head of Finance in New York.
The successful candidate will lead the finance team. Source and optimise leverage and financing for various trading strategies. Inventory management to facilitate short positions. Develop and maintain relationships with senior contacts at brokerages and finance departments at banks and other financial institutions. Negotiate robust commercial terms to support financing activities. Oversee complex margin arrangements for linear and non-linear trading strategies. Identify trends and dislocations in financing markets.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with trading desks in the company, overseeing the tracking and reporting of financing market trends and emerging risks to ensure acquisition of financing capacity and minimize disruptions to clients trading strategies. You will also drive the pursuit of automation for routine processes, utilizing technology to enhance team performance. This includes working with the specialized treasury development teams to implement ongoing improvements.
Candidates must possess a relevant finance degree, along with substantial experience in a buy-side treasury role or a financing desk ideally within an investment bank. Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills are required, as well as advanced proficiency in both written and verbal English. The successful applicant will have a proven ability to collaborate with trading teams to ensure that financing activities are aligned with investment strategies. A demonstratable interest in financial markets is essential. A distinct advantage is proven experience managing and mentoring a team of finance professionals.
