Anyone looking for an accountancy job should seek out roles that offer on the job training, an expert in the sector has said.
Business development manager at the Association of Accounting Technicians Rob Alder stated that to get ahead in the accounting jobs hunt, it is "fundamental" for job seekers to have a qualification in the field.
Having an accounting job qualification demonstrates "commitment to the profession" as well as the right skills to work in an accounting role and by obtaining it while working, employees can save themselves cash.
Before applying for accounting jobs, Mr Alder urged employment seekers to make sure their CV is up to scratch. While being good with numbers is no doubt a benefit when applying for such roles, adequate grammar and spelling is also essential, he remarked.
"Spelling mistakes indicate a lack of care and attention to detail," he warned.
Target Jobs recently urged graduates to remain hopeful of getting work, despite statistics that showed the jobs market is still tough for many - and pointed out that research can often make the condition of the job seeking market appear worse than it is.
