Our client is an industry-leading provider of client-focused management and consulting services to the insurance, re-insurance and alternative risk financing industry in the US, Europe and offshore captive insurance markets. On their behalf we are looking to hire a manager and senior manager for their growing business in Guernsey.
The successful candidate will be responsible responsible for the day-to-day insurance servicing of a diverse portfolio of clients. Act as client service lead for a number of assigned clients. Lead and/or support the team to ensure that the affairs of regulated insurance and reinsurance companies are managed to a high standard. Have knowledge of the underwriting requirements of clients and the contractual frameworks in which they operate. Provide technical expertise and support in the design and implementation of insurance-related structures. Process insurance transactions within set parameters, liaising with third parties to ensure compliance with the parameters and referring transactions to the board where needed. Manage specific client email in-boxes where necessary. Prepare and/or review insurance and reinsurance policy documentation, quotations and slips. Maintain registers of (re)insurance documentation and client insurance programmes. Oversee claims determination and claims handling. Assist with audits of outsourced activities. Review and handle complaints. Undertake regular client contact and management. Coordinate client underwriting committee and board meetings as required, including the preparation of reports for the inclusion in meeting papers. Serve as the manager representative on Client-specific Underwriting Committees as required from time to time. Advise on insurance developments and insurance market conditions. Assist with ad hoc project work as requested from time to time.
To be suitable for this role, you will have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in the insurance industry. ACII qualified or similar qualification. Strong focus on client service to ensure clients receive a high standard of service at all times. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with the ability to lead and/or back a wider team where attention to detail, time management and prioritisation skills are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
