A rare opportunity has arisen for a Direct Investments and/or M&A advisory professional to join one of the most reputable fund organisations in Oman. The client is an institutional investor with assets across diversified industry sectors.
This is a hands-on line manager role and will be responsible for the full deal cycle, developing and negotiating each stage of the transaction process—from initial deal structuring to the holding period and through to the exit process.
The role reports to a director, of the asset allocation arm of the business. As an astute negotiator, you will ensure the best possible terms for our client, while maintaining strong relationships with deal counter-parties. Deal sourcing of investments in companies operating in logistics, in alignment with our client's market’s needs, is a crucial part of this role. Additionally, you will be responsible for asset management, continuously evaluating existing portfolios and monitoring successful exits of existing deals to support the maximization of logistics revenue generation.
A track record of investing in the logistics or shipping sectors is a plus but not a requirement. The client is looking for a seasoned investment or M&A professional who can set the benchmark for international best practices, build global strategic alliances, and deploy capital to generate above-market results within the logistics sector.
You will also support Senior Management and the Investment Committee by reviewing and negotiating all deal documentation in consultation with the Head of Legal and External Counsel. Your role is to ensure that the negotiated deal terms and structures, as presented to the Investment Committee, are adequately documented in final agreements, securing the best possible terms for the OIA.
Due Diligence & Stakeholder Management
As a seasoned professional, you will take the lead in transaction origination efforts for the allocated sector, ensuring that investment transactions align with corporate governance and investment policy guidelines. Critically review due diligence studies, guide advisors on areas requiring further work, and ensure that critical investment findings are reported to senior deal team members and director, and, where appropriate, the Investment Committee.
Coordinate and monitor transactional and execution activities, including managing relationships with shareholders, investment banks, investment partners, and due diligence advisors, to minimize investment risks. Implement appropriate project management strategies to ensure that execution remains within budget and agreed timelines. Additionally, you will work seamlessly with the team to actively monitor and create value throughout the holding period of investments.
Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including Vision 2040 and other related national initiatives, will be essential to staying informed about market trends, de-risking projects, and optimizing the performance of our client's portfolio companies. Actively support portfolio companies in their divestment and fundraising efforts while assisting senior team members in recommending and implementing disposal plans to meet strategic objectives.
