We are seeking a highly skilled Macro Analyst & Editor to deliver elite-level analysis of global macroeconomic trends, financial markets, and geopolitical risks, while also curating and refining high-impact content for institutional stakeholders. This role requires deep expertise in economic frameworks, financial market dynamics, and policy analysis, coupled with exceptional editorial acumen to transform complex macro themes into sharp, actionable insights.
Additionally, the role will involve selective analysis of the evolving digital asset space, including macro-driven trends in crypto markets, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), and blockchain-based financial systems, ensuring a well-rounded perspective on emerging global finance. Working with the crypto analysts and editors to deepen the perspective and create an out of the box product.
Key Responsibilities:
Advanced Macroeconomic Research & Market Analysis:
- Conduct sophisticated macroeconomic research, integrating monetary policy, fiscal dynamics, trade flows, and capital markets to develop forward-looking perspectives.
- Analyse global financial conditions, inflation cycles, interest rate movements, yield curve shifts, and systemic risks.
- Track and interpret central bank policies (Federal Reserve, ECB, BOJ, PBOC, etc.) and their impact on asset prices and economic stability.
- Utilize cutting-edge econometric and quantitative models to forecast macro trends and assess market implications.
Strategic Investment Insights & Risk Assessment:
- Synthesize macroeconomic data into actionable investment strategies for asset allocation, portfolio positioning, and risk mitigation.
- Provide thought leadership on global market volatility, geopolitical shifts, and macro-driven investment themes.
- Conduct stress tests, scenario planning, and predictive analytics to anticipate economic inflection points.
- Assess the macroeconomic implications of digital assets, stablecoins, and evolving crypto regulations, while keeping a traditional finance-first approach.
High-Level Editorial & Content Curation:
- Edit and refine complex macroeconomic research into sharp, high-impact reports, ensuring clarity, coherence, and strategic relevance.
- Craft institutional-grade research notes, white papers, and market commentaries for C-suite executives, portfolio managers, and policymakers.
- Ensure research is compelling, data-driven, and aligned with the firm’s macro strategy and thought leadership objectives.
- Oversee content structure, editorial style, and messaging to maximize engagement and strategic value.
Thought Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Present macroeconomic insights to senior leadership, investment committees, and institutional clients.
- Act as a key spokesperson on macroeconomic trends, delivering sharp, well-articulated analysis in high-stakes discussions.
- Foster relationships with policymakers, economists, and industry leaders to stay ahead of global macro shifts.
- Provide occasional insights into the evolving role of decentralized finance (DeFi), central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), and the impact of blockchain on financial markets, where relevant to macro trends.
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential:
- 8+ years of experience in macroeconomic analysis, financial markets research, or global investment strategy.
- Master’s or PhD in Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Deep expertise in monetary/fiscal policy, international finance, and macro-driven asset allocation.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis, econometrics, and financial modelling (Python, R, Bloomberg, Eikon, Excel).
- Proven ability to translate complex economic trends into clear, actionable insights.
- Exceptional editorial and writing skills—precision, clarity, and the ability to distil nuanced macro themes into compelling narratives.
Preferred:
- CFA, CBE, or equivalent advanced certification.
- Experience in top-tier investment firms, hedge funds, policy institutions, or research think tanks.
- Knowledge of macro hedge fund strategies, derivative markets, and liquidity risk management.
- Familiarity with crypto’s role in global finance, stablecoin adoption, and central bank responses to digital currencies.
- Strong presence in media, publications, or industry conferences as a macroeconomic thought leader.
