Our esteemed institutional investor client in Muscat, Oman, is seeking a highly qualified group chief internal audit executive to lead the development and execution of the Group Internal Audit Strategy and Plan for the logistics arm and its subsidiaries.
This role is critical in ensuring the organisation's financial and operational controls are robust and effective. The successful candidate will oversee the planning, scoping, and execution of internal audits to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of controls, identify and address key control issues, and raise awareness of risk management practices. Additionally, must be able to lead and develop a high-performing audit team, ensuring that audit activities are conducted efficiently and effectively, and that audit reports are clear, concise, and actionable.
The Internal Audit Chief will be responsible for developing and implementing the annual internal audit plan, aligning with the organization's strategic objectives. They will conduct internal audits, including financial, operational, and compliance audits, to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of controls. The ideal candidate will identify, assess, and prioritize audit risks, focusing on areas with the highest potential impact. They will evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, including financial, operational, and compliance controls.
The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. They should be a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or hold an equivalent certification. Proven experience in internal auditing, with a strong understanding of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO) is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are required. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team and possess strong leadership and project management skills.
