A prominent holding company in Oman, which specialises in strategic investments across sectors such as food, agriculture, fisheries, and aquaculture is looking to hire a chief investment office (CIO). Aligned with Oman’s diversification strategy and long-term economic goals, the organisation is seeking a visionary CIO to lead its investment portfolio. This role is pivotal in driving growth, optimizing returns, and ensuring the sustainable development of key sectors within the national economy.
As a senior Investment professional, the CIO will oversee a diverse portfolio of subsidiaries, ensuring sustainable value creation for stakeholders through strategic investment management and operational oversight.
Spearhead the evaluation and selection of investment opportunities, focusing on assessing both the technical and financial feasibility of potential projects. This role demands a comprehensive understanding of risk management and compliance frameworks to mitigate challenges effectively. The CIO will also lead negotiations, structure investments, and define divestment strategies to maximize returns. By collaborating with key stakeholders, the CIO will develop detailed investment proposals and ensure thorough due diligence is conducted for all initiatives.
Monitoring and enhancing the performance of investments will be central to the role. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and work closely with portfolio companies to design and implement growth strategies, aligning them with NHC's long-term goals. In addition, develop and execute exit strategies, ensuring the portfolio's sustained profitability and resilience.
The ideal candidate will bring a visionary approach, coupled with strong leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills. A proven track record in managing portfolios and achieving financial targets is essential, with a preference for experience in the food, fisheries, aquaculture, or agricultural sectors. The role demands a strategic thinker with exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, alongside advanced expertise in financial modelling and performance evaluation.
