Zug is located in the centre of Switzerland, and is the largest town and capital of the Swiss canton of Zug. It is a relatively small canton with a population of almost 28,000 people (2022). This is an Alemannic Swiss German dialect speaking city, while standard German is also spoken too.

With low taxes and a business-friendly environment, Zug has a booming economy with very high standards of living, and an abundance of jobs. This is an essential part of the country that contributes significantly to the country’s economy. It is also a bustling cultural and industrial centre with beautiful surroundings.

Despite its small size, Zug is home to numerous diversified industries, including those within the high/deep tech, life science, finance and ICT sectors.

Why Choose Zug?

Zug is a glorious part of the world to live and work in that is renowned for its many positive attributes. In 2019, it was ranked eighth in the world in the InterNations Global Expat Ranking for quality of life, acclimatisation, and work in the city. This is a safe and clean part of the world with an excellent transportation system and high-quality medical care.

In addition to offering moderate tax rates, Zug is also renowned for its flourishing job market. There are plenty of opportunities for professional growth and development, and moving here is a superb idea if you want your career to evolve.

Outside of work, you’ll benefit from a diverse gastronomical scene, stunning scenery, and wide range of places to see and visit. From museums to magnificent lakes, there’s no shortage of places to explore here.

Requirements to set up a company

Thanks to the competitive tax rates on offer, Zug is a highly popular location for investors.

In order to set up a company here, you’ll need to select a company type, then deposit a minimum share capital. This will inevitably differ based on the type of company you establish.

Documentation that needs to be submitted includes Articles of Association, a bank statement confirming that the minimum share capital was deposited, a statement of mandate acceptance by an auditor, and a domicile acceptance declaration (in the instance that the company doesn’t have its own office).
